Opposition to the 1727 Amsterdam Project & Support More Low-Income Housing and Equitable Economic Development Opportunities for West Harlem

As concerned Hamilton Heights/West Harlem residents and voting constituents, and members of the West Harlem Community Preservation Organization, we are OPPOSED to the proposed 1727 Amsterdam Avenue Supportive Housing Project, which will replace the existing Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), eliminating the vital medical services currently provided there to our community and beyond. This project was planned without taking our needs and concerns into consideration and without any interface with our local Community Board (MCB9).

Support the West Harlem CPO’s campaign to stop BRC’s (Bowery Residents’ Committee) project to build supportive housing to replace the Upper Manhattan Mental Health Clinic displacing the Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center and the Heritage Health Center, both of which offers much needed services to the community residents of Hamilton Heights and West Harlem.

Read the letter addressed to elected officials stating our objection to the proposed plan. Please join the campaign by adding your name/signature to the letter and sharing the link with your friends and neighbors in Hamilton Heights, West Harlem.
