Event for the families who were burnt out of all of their homes at 465 West 144 Street. This fire took 9 hours to contain. No one died thank goodness, and the FDNY was wonderful as are the residents. But the residents lost everything. All of the local elected officials have been collecting clothes and other items, and New Yorkers and Harlemites have been very generous. Our office at 431 W 125 Street is full of generous donations. We will be bringing all of the items in carloads on Dec 9 to Convent Avenue Baptist Church, 420 W 145th Street New York, N.Y. 10031 from 4-8pm. You are welcome to join us and donate or just participate in support. The office of the Consul General of the Dominican Republic in particular has been very supportive.
