WeAct Empowering Communities to Power Change

A recent Nature study showed that over 12,700 lives have been saved by solar and wind energy over the last nine years in the U.S.1  Here in NYC, we know that solar can also:

  • help reduce energy costs
  • reduce emissions that cause climate change and dirty air
  • help prevent blackouts

Yet, only 2% of ConEd customers creating their own solar are considered low-income households. That’s why WE ACT is proud to launch our newest project, SOLAR UPTOWN NOW (SUN) to get more solar on the roofs of Uptown residents.

We can get more solar on the roofs of Uptown residents’ homes, but we need your help. Click here to learn more about participating in SUN.

We are partnering with Solar One, the Urban Homesteading Assistance Board, and Sustainable CUNY to facilitate the installation of at least 150 kW of new solar power on low to moderate income multifamily affordable housing units and HDFC co-op buildings in northern Manhattan.

We are holding two September 2017 informational meetings for residents interested in participating in SUN. Please RSVP here

  • Westside Meeting (Tuesday, September 26, 6-8pm) WE ACT for Environmental Justice
  • Eastside Meeting (Thursday, September 28, 6-8pm), UHAB Community Training Center
