On February 2nd from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, WE ACT for Environmental Justice, along with our project partner Here Comes Solar NYC, will be hosting the first meeting of our new community solar initiative. This program will provide technical assistance and information for residents and property owners in Northern Manhattan who are interested in gaining access to affordable and reliable solar energy.
During the planning process for the Northern Manhattan Climate Action plan, participants identified renewable energy as a top priority. This program will educate local residents about solar energy, identify the best places for solar within our communities, and facilitate the process for property owners to work with installers. The result of this program will be to organize community members as a means of reducing the cost of solar, and to work with residents as they purchase and install renewable energy systems.
